ABOUT US
The Brooklawn Fire Company proudly protects about 2500 residents living in an area of about 1 square mile. We operate from 2 stations that protect a primarily residential area with some light industrial. We are a fully volunteer department of 15 members. Our town is bordered by water on three sides that keeps all three of our water rescure boats busy. Us Rt. 130 runs on the east side of town through two circles that keep us busy with MVA's. CSX rail line splits the town in half with all freight traffic. We are bordered to the north by Little Timber creek and Gloucester City, District 5,. to the East by Bellmawr, to the south by Big Timber Creek and Gloucester County and to the west by the Delaware river. We provide fire protection services, light rescue, water rescue, and firefighting mutual aid and air cascade support services to surrounding communities.
Our house is a friendly, family like atmosphere where all are invited to stop in and make friends. We provide training to all new members as well as continued education to any member. We offer a LOSAP award program which is similar to a 401-K program. We provide all kinds of friendly help to our residents and businesses from assistance with changing batteries in smoke detectors, installing new smoke detectors, fire safety awareness training and inspections and pumping out basemwnts.
We sponsor a BSA Learning for Life explorer post where young adults from the ages of 15 to 21 can join to learn about what is involved in firefighting. Our Ladies auxiliary is always there to help us. They are always looking for new members that would like to get involved. Our Association members help with the non firefighting activities and administrative activities including parades and borough activities fund raising and other administrative functions.
Our meetings are on the second Tuesday of the month but there are members at the station almost every night of the week. If you think you might be interested in helping both us and your neighbors please feel free to stop in or email us.
